Tom Yoemans Scholarship Award

“The Tom Yoemans Scholarship is awarded to the most promising top age under 16 player. An important part of this award is a financial component which the recipient can use to obtain some professional coaching to assist their development. Tom Yoemans was president of Mitcham’s junior section when he suddenly passed away during the 1986/87 season. The club then decided to award a scholarship in his honour from the following season with the inaugural winner being Danny Taylor. Since then many of Mitcham’s best junior cricketers have been awarded the Tom Yoemans scholarship and benefited from the coaching that goes along with it.
