David King - MCC T20 Player
The Mitcham Cricket Club is very pleased to announce our marquee signing for the 2023/24 BHRDCA T-20 season, David King.
David has played all his cricket at Ringwood Cricket Club, rising through its junior ranks to debut at 1st X level at just 16 years of age in 2006/2007. His list of achievements are long:
- appointed Captain of their 1st XI in 2016/2017 and is still currently in that position.
- played 282 1st XI games for Ringwood, a club record.
- won the prestigious Ryder Medal in 2019/2020 awarded to the best player in the District cricket competition.
Not only did David win the medal in 2019/2020, but he has been runner up twice, and placed in the top 5 on four other occasions.
David currently heads up our Junior coaching program, so many of the players who will be playing in the team this year have been under David’s coaching guidance.
Adding David’s experience to our playing group will be invaluable this T-20 season, and we officially welcome David aboard!
